Last Minute Trip To The Chiricahua's!

So, I got off work and called Preston at 9:00pm on Friday. We discussed going on an adventure and had it all planned and confirmed by 10:30pm. At this time, we both noted that we needed to change the oil in our trucks. Preston was still in Phoenix at the time, so he ran out to an Autozone open late and I did the same in Tucson. I ended up conducting the oil change at midnight. Meanwhile, Preston drove down to Tucson and arrived at 1:30am. We changed his oil, packed up the trucks with the gear required for the trip and finished at 4:00am. Once loaded and ready to go, we looked at one another, paused, and then decided the best idea was to shower and then get on the road with no sleep! We made a trip to a 24 hour walmart, got the food beverage and made our way toward the Chiricahua's!

Changing my oil and topping off power steering fluid at midnight!
Preston arrives on the scene at 1:30am.
Getting down to business on Preston's oil situation
Half way up the mountain at 9:00am, so we decided to take a break. We needed it as the coffee and 5 hour energy supplements weren't much competition for our fatigue...
It felt unusually late and as if it was time for a beer, so we indulged!

After our beer break we made it to our camping destination at 10:30am.
Once everything was unloaded we decided to wander around like zombies and check out the surrounding area. We decided to hike to the top of this!
Which had this view!

We always seem to find the lizards!

Then we went to look at all the daisey's that had bloomed!

This was one of many hang out spots throughout the day!

We woke up the next morning and made our way down to wait for this train in Wilcox.
We then decided it would be a good idea to go play on the Playa! It was like sitting in an oven, so we didn't stay long...
This trip was definately worth the effort! Our camp was amazing and had breath taking views of the stars. I am continuosly impressed with the remote and vast nature of the Chiricahuas. We will definately be back!
